A SUSTAINABLE CHARCOAL MANUFACTURING PROCESS USING LOCAL RESOURCES AND INNOVATIVE DESIGN. This approach leverages the surplus of wattle in the Eastern Cape to create a sustainable and efficient charcoal production process. Charcoal manufacturing is rare in the province, with fewer than three registered companies in the region. This innovation uses the abundant black wattle from local districts, turning an invasive species into a valuable product. This approach not only addresses a local market need, but also promotes sustainable resource use.
